MTEL - CLST - READING sub-test Session 1

Presented by: Tom Rousseau, M.Ed. - Assistant Dean of Academic Support Services.

The MTEL - CLST READING sub-test Session 1 video cast reviews information on both the reading comprehension and vocabulary test objectives.  A specific reading comprehension strategy is practiced. Also reviewed is a strategy for answering the vocabulary defintions. Test directions, test objectives and specific effective study methods and a multiple choice test taking method is presented. Prior to reviewing this workshop students are urged to purchase the Official THEA Test Study Guide ISBN 0-89056-022-6 and complete the Practice Test that begins on page 592 and score their results using the "Skill Evaluation Chart" on page 666.

MTEL - CLST: READING sub-test - Session 2 - Critical Reasoning

Presented by: Tom Rousseau, M.Ed. - Assistant Dean of Academic Support Services.

The MTEL - CLST READING sub-test Session 2 video cast reviews a strategy for mastering the ability to correctly answer critical reasoning test questions. A review of chapter 8 of the Official THEA Test Study Guide is presented.  The analysis of student scores state-wide reveal that the lowest test objective score is on the Critical Reasoning test questions. Students are urged to carefully review this test objective as part of their overall test preparation plan.
