Athletics: Jeff Moda - 2001 Inductee - Graduated 1992
This former member of the U.S. National Bobsled team was a two-time
All-American and four-time captain on Pearl Street in the sport
of track and field. As a freshman, Moda won the New England Division
III and ECAC Championships in the 55-meter dash. One year later,
Moda was an All-American on the indoor 4x400m relay team, while
also winning the ECAC 55-meter sprint for the second-straight year.
He also placed second in both the 100m and 200m indoor sprints at
the New England Division III Championship. The 1989-90 outdoor track
season brought another All-American performance (second place, 200m),
while he also placed second and fourth in the New England Division
III 200- and 100-meter championships, respectively.
As a junior, he won three events in the New England Division III
Championships – 200m indoors (Bowdoin College facility record),
and both 100- and 200-meter sprints in the outdoor campaign. Moda
also placed second in the 55m indoor sprint at the New England Div.

(100m, 200m, 4x100m relay). To cap his career, Moda won the New
England Division III 200-meter sprint in both the indoor and outdoor
seasons, while also winning the 55m sprint at the same New England
indoor meet. He was also a member of the first FSC outdoor MASCAC
Championship team since 1982. After college, Moda was invited to
the 1994 Olympic bobsled trials for the Lillehammer Olympic Games,
while also qualifying for the Europa Cup Circuit (fourth-place finish).
