Athletics: Eugene Casassa - 1997 Inductee - Graduated 1951
After an outstanding career as a player on the FTC soccer team,
Mr. Casassa went on to coach soccer for 14 years and hockey for
four years at the college. Under his leadership, the FTC soccer
team gained national prominence in the early 1960's when they went
63-18-3 over an eight year span and gained a berth in the national
tournament. Mr. Casassa was also active at Fitchburg State as an
instructor, was very active in the theater and even started a Fencing
Club.
