David Farnsworth, a 1980 graduate, is the greatest sprinter ever
to don the green and gold of Fitchburg State. His list of achievements,
accrued through four seasons of both indoor and outdoor track, is
simply astounding. As a senior he won the National Championship

earned All-America honors on two other occasions. "White Lightning"
as he was known, won six New England Championships, two Eastern
