Athletics: Christopher Page - 2003 Inductee - Graduated 1987
Christopher Page was one of the most prolific scorers in the history
of Fitchburg State Ice Hockey. The forward was one of just a handful
of players in school history to register more then 50 points in
three different seasons. Page collected 79 goals and 107 assists
to total 186 career points. That mark ranks him fifth all-time on
the school’s point list.
After a freshman season that saw him contribute 18 points, Page
became a scoring machine during his sophomore campaign of 1984-85.
He netted 24 goals and dished out 30 assists as the Falcons posted
a 17-11 record and advanced to the ECAC Quarterfinals in coach Dean
Fuller’s first year behind the bench. Page was at his best
in the clutch. He tallied five power play goals and two game-winners
enroute to a 54 point season.
Page’s junior season was more of the same. The 1985-86 team
finished 16-10 and qualified for the ECAC North semifinals. He recorded
a career best 59 points with 21 goals and 38 assists as he was named
All-MASCAC. The Falcons went a step further during his senior season.
The Green and Gold advanced to the North finals and finished the
year with a 19-9 record. Page, a co-captain, finished his standout
career by scoring 21 goals and dishing out 31 assists.
