Ed. In Special Education
Introduction:
Welcome to the website of the
Graduate Programs in Special Education at Fitchburg State
college! FSC is one of only 7 institutions in Massachusetts
accredited by NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of
Teacher Preparation). Faculty in the Special Education
Department at FSC work closely with the Massachusetts
Department of Education (DOE) and with local school
districts to ensure that our graduates meet both licensure
requirements and the needs of Massachusetts communities.
Our current array of graduate programs reflect these
partnerships. With substantial changes in MA teacher
licensure going into effect in October 2003, we are in the
process of revising some programs, and introducing others.
During the 2003-2004 academic year, the following programs
will be offered:
Master's
Program in Moderate Disabilities (Replaces
"Clinical Program)
Master's
Program in Severe Disabilities (Replaces "Clinical
Program)
Reading
Specialist (M.Ed. in Special Education)
Guided
Studies - Professional Track or Individualized Track
(non-licensure)
