Admission to Fitchburg State College - Special Education Department

   Students are free to take the prerequisite courses prior to acceptance to Fitchburg State College.  Only under very special circumstances, however, are students permitted to register for more than 6 credits without receiving a letter of acceptance.    An applicant for enrollment in any of the Master of Education in Special Education programs at Fitchburg State College is required to submit: 

An official transcript of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

An official report of the Miller's Analogies Test (M.A.T) or the Graduate Record Exam (G.R.E)

Three letters of recommendation on a Fitchburg State College form submitted by individuals under whom the applicant has studied and/or under whose immediate supervision he/she has worked in a professional capacity or;  from others who are in a position to offer a pertinent appraisal of the applicant's academic, interpersonal skills, ability and potential.

$25 Application fee.

Applicants who do not have provisional with advanced standing certification or initial licensure must submit their score of the literacy portion of the Massachusetts Educator Certification test as part of their application.
