Dr. Paul Weizer, Chair of the Social Science Department; Professor Rod Christy, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Eric Gregoire, Vice-President of the Class of 2011 and Political Science student, will sit on the panel and answer questions from the audience about a range of issues concerning the Constitution and the Electoral college.

Events: 2007-2008

• The Political Science Department and International Studies Program’s Second Open Forum Keynote Address was held on 24 April 2008 -- as part of Fitchburg State College’s International Month. Dr. Alan Stolberg from the U.S. Army War College was the keynote speaker and gave a talk on " American National Security and the Transnational Threats of the 21st Century ”. The event was co-sponsored by: Department of Political Science, International Studies Program, Political Science Club, Student Government Association, Office of Cultural Affairs, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society, International Advisory Committee, and the
Office of Student Activities.

Events: 2006-2007

• The Political Science Department and International Studies Program’s First Open Forum Keynote Address was held on 11 April 2007 -- as part of Fitchburg State College’s International Week. Dr. Jessica Stern from the Harvard University was the keynote speaker and gave a talk on "The Impact of International Terrorism on the U.S.—And Beyond”. Dr. Stern is a world-renowned author, government policymaker, Law School Program Director, Kennedy School Lecturer, movie role (model). The event was co-sponsored by: Department of Political Science, International Studies Program, Political Science Club, Student Government Association, Office of Cultural Affairs, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society, International Advisory Committee, and Office of Student Activities.

• The FSC Model UN Club’s first ever Regional High School Model UN Conference was held in April 2007. The event brought together over 50 high school students for a day-long conference, representative of five outstanding regional area high schools. The Model UN team, advised by Professors Budd and Spero, planned, organized, and hosted this very successful event that promises to become an annual capstone conference.
