Nursing

Nursing OpportunitiesIf you're considering an undergraduate Nursing degree, enrolling in Army ROTC can enhance your leadership skills and critical thinking abilities while providing financial support to help make your professional goals a reality.
Being a Nurse in the Army provides you with benefits not found in the civilian world. As an Army Nurse and Officer, you will have the respect of your peers and coworkers, as well as opportunities to train and serve in a variety of specialties.

We currently have several opportunities and career paths to choose from. With the ROTC Nursing Scholarship you are assessed into the Active Duty Army with a four year commitment, but it is up to you how you go about getting your degree.

The Army Nurse Corps offers many benefits when compared with an initial civilian nursing job:

  • Specialization training one year into service (versus three years on average for a civilian position.
  • Authority and prerogatives of formal rank. As an officer, you LEAD, with the full force fo a disciplined command structure behind you!
  • Rapid Advancement. Currently, Army Nurse entry-level officers (2nd Lieutenants) advance two full grades with a 60% pay increase over their first three and a half years of service!
  • Nurse Summer Training Program (NSTP) - An intensive, wide-ranging clinical experience at a major Army medical center during the summer between junior and senior year.
