Strategic Planning Initiative: Charges to the Planning Task Forces

 

Enrollment Management

Develop an enrollment management plan that establishes undergraduate and graduate recruitment, enrollment, and retention targets.

Develop a student diversity enhancement plan to improve admissions yields, retention rates, and graduation rates of minority students.

Develop a marketing plan to support recruitment and diversity plans.

Establish a student retention monitoring and intervention system.

Develop an enrollment plan for non-degree and non-credit programs.

Membership to include not more than: 

3 Faculty
5 Administrators
1 AFSCME representative
2 Students

 

Academic Quality

Develop a set of criteria that will be used by the college to determine the level of academic quality achieved at the institution and department/program/major levels.

Develop a process for making a determination of academic quality using existing and/or new assessments.

Develop a process for addressing issues raised that are required to achieve, maintain and enhance quality.

Investigate avenues for endorsements of quality from external bodies and agencies.

Campus Resources

Physical Plant

Review space utilization on campus and provide recommendations for modifications to current space usage and allocation.

Evaluate the utility of the Saratoga Plan as a design for capital planning.

Develop a prioritized, comprehensive facilities renewal plan considering the NEASC report, state long-range capital plan, and all other relevant documents.

Finance

Evaluate budget development process and recommend modifications.

Community Relations

Review current community collaborations and partnerships and develop recommendations to respond to community and neighborhood needs.

Membership to include not more than:

4 Administrators
1 AFSCME representative
2 Students

 

Technology

Engage all segments of the college community in an assessment of technology needs including software, hardware, networking, telecommunications, and technology services.

Develop a technology plan to meet the academic and administrative needs of the campus.

Develop recommendations for upgrading the technical skills of faculty and staff, and improving access to and supervision of computer labs.

Membership to include not more than:

7 Administrators
1 AFSCME representative

Quality of Student Life

Develop a plan to enhance the quality of student life in areas of student activities, campus living, safety and security, student support services and recreation and leisure.

Review current academic and co-curricular collaborations and develop recommendations to support greater integration between the two areas.
