Placement Testing: Mathematics Readiness Standard Notice to
Current Students
If you currently attend Fitchburg State College and you have not
satisfied the College Level Mathematics Readiness Standard, please
read the standard below. You are encouraged to take the placement
test before your final two semesters to ensure that you will have
adequate time to prepare for the test and complete the required
mathematics courses. Please refer to the Practice
questions on this website.
College Level Mathematics Readiness Standard
Meeting the College Level Mathematics Readiness Standard is required
to determine your level of preparation for success in college level
mathematics courses.
The College Level Mathematics Readiness Standard can be met in
one of the following ways:
- Achieve a score of 82 or higher on the computerized Algebra
Placement Test.
- Receive college level transfer credit for Calculus I or higher.
- Pass Basic Math II at Fitchburg State College. (Students can
only register for Basic Math I or II after completing a Placement
Test.)
- If you entered Fitchburg State College as a transfer student
and you do not need, or desire to take a mathematics course at
Fitchburg State College.
