Orientation: Important Dates

Check-inThere are three important dates you should plan for when preparing for orientation:

Placement Test
You will need to make sure you attend one of the placement tests assigned to you by the school before you come to SOAR orientation. Without having taken the test you will not be able to register for classes on your summer orientation date. You can schedule a time to take the placement test on the placement test Web site.

SOAR
You will be sent a date of which you will attend summer orientation. On this date you will meet Fitchburg State's orientation leaders, who will guide you through advising, registration, and any questions you may have.

Move-inMove-In
Residents will arrive on Aug. 31 to check in and be assigned to an orientation group that will help you become comfortable with the college on your first few days here. Residents will move into the halls on this day as well.

The day will begin at the Wallace Civic Center, where you will check in to receive your One Card ID and an orientation packet. Soon after you will be able to move into your residence hall. Orientation programs will begin during the late afternoon, where all freshman will be divided into their orientation groups and will meet their orientation leaders.

Commuter Check-In
Commuters will arrive on Sept. 1, between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. From there, they will be assigned an orientation group.

Move in Date: Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 (Resident)
