Group Study Room Guidelines

Patrons not in compliance with these rules may be asked to leave and/or be barred from future group study room use.

  • The room is designed for group study and may not be reserved or used for individual use.
  • Reservations are available on a first-come, first served basis.
  • Reservations must be made using the OneCard with a library account in good standing.
  • The room may be occupied for one two-hour period per day with one two-hour renewal if there is no one waiting. Only one booking per day per group is allowed.
  • The room may be used as a media viewing/listening room, provided it is being used by a group.
  • You must check in with the Circulation Desk within 15 minutes after the start time for which the room was reserved. After that time, the reservation is void and the room may be checked out to a different group.
  • The person who reserves the study room is responsible for the condition of the room and should return furniture to the original arrangement. Repair costs to fix any damage to the room will be charged to the one who reserved the room.
  • The room is not sound proof; therefore users should be sensitive to the need for quiet in order not to disturb others.
  • The Library's food/drink and cell phone policies are enforced in the study room.

Equipment Loans

As of August 2007 the library will no longer be loaning equipment or processing equipment reservations. All of the equipment formerly available through the library, such as laptops and projectors, has now relocated to the Information Technology Department and reservations can now be made through the IT Help Desk. For a list of available equipment, reservation information, and policies please go to http://www.fsc.edu/technology/equipcheckout/.
