Information Technology: Student Computer Recommendations
Fitchburg State College has implemented a student laptop requirement for incoming freshmen and freshmen transfers. (Please check with your department for discipline-specific needs.) All FSC students are eligible to participate in this purchase program.
We recommend that you do not purchase computers outside the FSC recommendations. The negotiated purchase prices that FSC has secured, which are significantly below open market prices, include not only the appropriate operating system (with pre-configured FSC settings), virus protection, and anti-spyware software, but – pre-loaded on the Dells only – also the Microsoft Office suite.
