Media Scheduling, Pickup & Returns

  • Equipment pickup and returns are done at the Help Desk Office located in the Conlon Industrial Arts Building, Room 230.
  • Reservations can be made by either calling the Help Desk at x4500 or from off-campus at 978-665-4500 or by filling out a ticket through the Online Help Desk.
  • All equipment pickup and returns will be done at the Help Desk between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Later hours are available upon request.
  • The complete list of available equipment is available to both faculty and staff, not students.

Equipment Reservation Policy

  • It is essential that equipment be returned on time so that it is available for the next scheduled person. Failure to do so may result in the loss of borrowing privileges.
  • You may request special software or hardware setup when reserving a laptop computer, however, a minimum of one week advanced reservation is required. When feasible an IT Media Specialist will configure it to meet your request. (Software requests are subject to the college having a licensing agreement or the patron providing the software; hardware requests are subject to their availability through the IT Help Desk. If equipment is owned by the patron it must be compatible with the laptop.)
  • To cancel or make any changes to your reservation, please contact the IT Help Desk as soon as possible.

Borrowing Policies

  • Faculty and staff wanting to borrow equipment must be registered in the Online Help Desk ticketing system.
  • If you are new to Fitchburg State, or have not used the Online Help Desk before, stop by the Help Desk with your One Card ID to activate your account.
  • Faculty and staff wanting to borrow equipment must present their One Card ID at the Help Desk when they pick the equipment up.
  • Faculty & staff must pick the equipment up in person. They may not designate a patron to sign out equipment in their place.
  • Equipment will be examined by staff prior to being loaned to a patron and upon its return to ensure that it is in good working condition. In borrowing the equipment, you accept responsibility for returning it in the same condition you received it.
  • The Help Desk does not supply blank cassettes, discs, tapes, etc.
