The purpose of this course is to gain control of the photographic medium by matching purpose, with vision and technique. Using digital photographic cameras, students will be able to continuously explore their photography, and through structured assignments develop an individual style.
Pre-requisite: CM 3600 and CM 3610 (or permission of instructor) Photographers beyond the introductory college level course, with some experience and knowledge of their dSLR are required. A digital camera with aperture and shutter-speed priority modes is essential. Some darkroom experience is helpful (although we will not be using a wet darkroom).
A laptop computer is required with Photoshop installed. Additional portable storage drive is highly recommended for backup.
Housing:
Students will stay in 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with kitchens.
Excursions:
Sitges(small historic Spanish town)
Girona and Figueres (two towns on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea)
Montserrat (mountain which some believe hosts the Holy Grail)
