Newsletter And Course Offerings News and Events: Occupational Education IntroductionIn an effort to provide better communication with Vocational education students, the Fitchburg State College Vocational Education Program is exploring another means of providing you the student with helpful information through a regular newsletter. This is our first effort so please bear with us. Our goal is to publish 4 newsletters per year. Each newsletter will provide you with the most current course schedules and projected course offerings. Additional changes in programs, policies and personnel will also be noted here. The goal is to keep the newsletter brief and concise. If you have any questions, information, or recommendations to be submitted to the newsletter, please forward them to the attention of the Vocational Education Office at Fitchburg State College. Access to the DirectorSince�his�arrival�on�September 1 2000 the�new program�director�Jim Alicata�has made�student�access a priority. During the fall semester he visited�every Vocational�Teacher�Education class�offered�by Fitchburg�State�College at every satellite�campus.�He�is repeating this practice this�semester and has�visited�all�but�three classes.�He expects to complete these visits by March 19, 2001. The vocational education office is trying hard to maintain a policy of returning telephone calls in a 24 hrs period. This policy has generated a lot of positive feedback. Summer Schedule 2001The summer schedule for vocational education courses has been submitted to the printer and the final copy is expected to be mailed during the first week of April. Plans are presently being made for the fall semester schedule. There is a strong possibility that additional courses will be offered at the Worcester Vocational High School and North Shore Tech High School in addition to our present locations. More information on these changes will be coming in the future.
