Discrimination Complaint Procedures

A person who believes he/she has been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, political belief or affiliation, or veteran status may:

  • File an informal claim either permitting or not permitting the use of his/her name, in an effort to resolve the matter.
  • File a formal complaint without first filing an informal complaint.
  • File a charge directly with the local, state, or federal agency having appropriate jurisdiction.

It is the intent of the Human Resources/Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Office to actively respond to all claims/ complaints of discrimination with the hope that we can fully, quickly and adequately resolve them internally.

The office of Human Resources, Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity is committed to a fair and equitable environment for all staff, faculty and students. We are committed to the following:

  • Develop and coordinate affirmative action/equal opportunity policies and procedures

  • Monitor progress in meeting the College's affirmative action/equal opportunity/diversity commitments
  • Serve as a resource center for the College on AA/EO issues
  • Communicate information on laws, regulations and policies on affirmative action/equal opportunity to members of the College campus
  • Assist in identification of problem areas with respect to the Massachusetts State Plan for Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity/Diversity and make recommendations for remedial actions
