As the Fitchburg State College graduating class of 2009 was concluding its freshman year, the Fitchburg State College Equity amd Diversity Committee conducted a survey of attitudes toward diversity at the college. Respondents include students, faculty, staff and administrators. Below are some of the results of the survey.
23% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that respect for people of differing sexual orientation is a problem at Fitchburg State College.
20% of respondents agreed that there is a problem with friendship between students of different races, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socio-economic status, or background.
50% of respondents agree or strongly agree that Fitchburg State College should have a graduation requirement that students take at least one course on the exploration of diversity in society.
