Writing Associates
The Writing Associates Program is hosted by the English Department and directed by Judy Budz. Advanced undergraduates (i.e. sophomores and up) who display talent and competence in writing may be nominated for the program by any participating or interested faculty member from any department in the College.
Writing Associates provide writing support for students enrolled in a wide range of classes, including courses at all levels of Criminal Justice, Political Science, History, English and Communication. In addition to assisting students in and out of class on their various writing assignments, Writing Associates may also give in-class presentations, host study sessions and devise various sorts of exercises in consultation with the faculty members with whom they are working.
Writing Associates receive three credits of Independent Study from the English Department. They may also qualify for stipends if they return to the program for a second or third semester.
