Distance Learning: Development /Redevelopment Process
- Developer makes initial contact with the Distance Education Coordinator to develop a course (confirms it does not already exist.)
- Developer completes and gets departmental and/or program chair signatures before submitting the form to the Distance Education Coordinator. (Distance Learning Course Development Proposal form) The form is then signed off by: Distance Education Coordinator, Dean of Graduate and Continuing Education.
- Developer requests a development shell through the Information Technology online help desk.
- Developer meets with the Distance Learning Coordinator for Blackboard Training.
- Course must be fully developed and ready for review at a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the course start date.
- At this point (at least 4 weeks prior to start) Developer must submit, with appropriate chair(s) signatures, paperwork for review of completed course. (Distance Learning Course Initiation form). At the same point in time, Developer must complete a ticket through the Information Technology online help desk to grant access to the Dean, Distance Education Coordinator, Program Chair and Department Chair so that the completed course can be reviewed
- Course must ultimately be approved by the following:
Department Chair, Program Chair, Distance Education Coordinator, Dean of Graduate and Continuing Education
- Any required changes and/or edits must be completed one week prior to the course start date. (If the course is not approved by at least one week prior to start date it may be cancelled.)
