Campus Police: Student Employment


Student Security Officer

The student employee will assist the Campus Police with security functions on and around the campus areas from 8:00pm to 1am, Thursday through Sunday for the spring 2008 semester. The student employee will be under the direct supervision of a Campus Police Officer.

As a Student Security Officer, the student employee will be responsible for assisting the Campus Police with all security procedures both on and around campus. Specifically, the student employee will be responsible for numerous duties including: safety escorts, building checks, emergency call box checks, resident hall checks, parking services, and general crime prevention.

The nature of the job and the elevated level of responsibility required of these men and women dictates a $9.00 per hour rate of pay.

Employment is generally from September through May unless demand or resources limit this. Employment may be terminated for failure to comply with the Campus Police Department policy and procedures outlined for these employees.
