What are the Plan Options?
What meal plan should I choose? A safe rule is to pick a
plan that has the meal total closest to the amount you plan
to attend each week. If you are a new student and not sure
of what your eating habits will be, then you may want to consider
the Freedom meal plan for the first semester and keep track of
your eating habits during the semester. Then change plans
the next semester based on your usage. However, meals and
Falcon Dollars do not carry over to the next semester so select
the plan that you think will best fit your needs and plan
for the use of your Falcon Dollars throughout the semester.
These are the meal plans effective for September 2008:
The Freedom Meal Plan offers you a choice of unlimited meals at Holmes Dining Hall. This plan also includes 10 guest passes per semester, plus $125 in Falcon Dollars. Falcon Dollars can be spent for a quick snack or beverage in Commuter Café or the vending machines. The Freedom Meal
Plan is the best buy for your money and is ideal for students
who remain on campus most weekends. The Freedom Meal Plan will cost $1350 per semester.
The 15 Meal Plan is traditionally
picked by resident students who occasionally travel off campus
on weekends or to nearby employment. It provides 15 meals
per week, including 5 guest passes per semester and $100 Falcon dollars. The 15 Meal Plan will cost $1300 per semester.
The 10 Meal Plan will fit the needs
of students who regularly travel off campus by providing any
10 meals per week. We haven't forgotten your snack needs.
There's $75 Falcon dollars included on this plan. The 10 Meal Plan will cost $1200 per semester.
The 5 Meal Plan is designed for
off-campus students and those living on-campus in the Townhouses, North Street Apartments and Cedar Street House.
This plan provides 5 meals per week and $50 Falcon dollars. The 5 Meal Plan will cost $675 per semester.
What are Falcon Dollars?
Falcon dollars are spent just like cash. They allow you to
purchase a snack or beverage or meal at any of our food facilities
on campus during any time we're open. With them, you can treat
a friend or family member. What if I pick a plan with Falcon
dollars and run out before the end of the semester? You can
add Falcon dollars at any time during the semester by simply
going to the Dining Services Office.
Where Do I Eat?
The dining center is located in Holmes Dining Commons located
over North Street.
Yes, the actual cafeteria is located above
the street, thereby connecting the west residential campus
with the academic campus. Your meal plan
also comes with Falcon Dollars that can be used anytime at
the Commuter Café, Holmes Dining or converted so it
can be used in the vending machines within the halls.
What if I have a class or work conflicts with meal times?
There are three ways that allow you to get a meal if you
have a conflict. First is
the meal exchange/cash equivalency at the Commuter Cafe. The
second is the
BAG IT program. This allows students to get a cold meal to
go for lunch or dinner by simply filling out a request in
advance. The last option is Lite Lunch in Holmes from 1:30pm
- 4:00pm.
Job Opportunities
There are many part-time positions available with Chartwells
and in our Catering Department. Student workers have an important
role in our operation, so stop by and talk to a Dining Service
Manager about positions that are available.
