Dr. Christopher Cratsley

The Fitchburg State College Department of Biology and Chemistry oversees graduate programs in Biology and Science Education in collaboration with the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education and the departments of Education and Geophysical sciences.  These programs are designed to prepare students for careers and advanced study in Biology and the Natural Sciences through a variety of tracks that can be tailored to provide broad exposure to graduate level coursework in the sciences or a narrow focus on research in a particular field. Students can engage in focused research to develop and defend a Masters thesis, complete coursework and field-based experiences as part of a program leading to initial or professional teaching licensure, or design a personalized plan of courses to meet other career goals.  Each program incorporates core course requirements that teach ethical perspectives and the foundations of research practice in the sciences. All coursework is offered evenings or weekends to allow students to pursue internships, graduate assistantships or to continue their current employment.  For admissions applications and general program information please contact the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education. For more specific information contact the graduate program chair.

Fitchburg State College offers several options for those who wish to pursue a graduate degree in the science field:
