Banner Navigation Training

If you are a new employee or would like a "refresher" on general Banner Navigation, please contact Leona Burgess (lburgess@fsc.edu or x3375) to set up a training session.

The Bandits is a Banner user group that meets periodically (dependent on availability and interest of the majority of its members) to share tips and tricks as well as trouble shoot and escalate issues encountered during testing of patches and upgrades. The group also works to educate one another and find better solutions for daily tasks. Please send an email to bandits@fsc.edu if you are interested in joining or to Leona for further information.

Banner Support

Please contact the appropriate Functional-Technical representative in your area if your department has one (department secretaries email bandits@fsc.edu) to first attempt to rule out possible issues and isolate the problem. Then contact the helpdesk at x4500 or log onto the Online Help Desk & Knowledge Center.

If you have locked your Banner account because you tried to log in too many times, you can send an email to bannersec@fsc.edu without doing the above (include your username, where you were (production or test) and your extension).

Banner Documentation

General documentation can be found on Information Technology Banner Help Page under "Helpful Links" (a.k.a. Bandits - see right menu for links). Gradually more documentation will be added to this site. Consult colleagues in your area for department specific documentation.

User manuals from Sungard Higher Education can be found on the M: drive.

Banner Performance

If you are experiencing problems with Banner being excessively slow or "kicking you out" repeatedly please first try to log back in (in the case of slowness) to see if there is any improvement. If not, navigate to Information Technology's main page (http://www.fsc.edu/it/) and review the "Current System Status" menu (bottom right) to see if IT is already aware and working on the issue. Also check your email to see if IT has acknowledged the issue (if it's campus-wide) and suggests any resolution or projected time of resolution. Calling to report an already know issue only takes away from staff's time to fix the problem! If a green checkmark appears next to the system and you have not heard otherwise, IT may not aware of the problem, please call x4500.
