Benefits and Services of the Fitchburg State College Alumni Association
Alumni Directory
About every five years, the Association publishes an alumni directory, which it makes available to alumni for a modest fee. The directory was last published in 2005. When we begin the process of gathering information for the 2010 edition, you will receive e-mails, postcards, letters or phone messages.
Board of Directors and Committees
All alumni are eligible to stand for elected office in the Association or to request appointment to one of the Association's committees. Currently the Association has the following committees: Awards, Historical, Mara Scholarship, Miller Award, Nominating, Programs and Events, Scholarship, Strategic Planning, SARA (Student Alumni Relations Alliance) and Technology. Career Services
Career counseling, career networking, and résumé assistance are all available. Call the Career Services Office at (978) 665-3151 for an appointment. Some evening hours are available. Check out the link to Career Services at http://www.fsc.edu/careersvs/.
College Bookstore
A 10% discount on all clothing and gift items at the college store is available to alumni. You must show your membership card to receive this discount.
Commencement
Alumni representatives are an important part of commencements at Fitchburg State College. Each year alumni are asked to represent their class in the academic processions at the winter and spring commencement exercises. Traditionally, a breakfast for alumni delegates is held the morning of spring commencement. Call the alumni office if you would like to be considered as a delegate.
Alumni Magazine
The alumni magazine, Contact, comes out twice a year. Alumni may submit career and family notices for the Class Notes section. We also encourage alumni to send us ideas for feature stories about alumni.
Insurance: Auto and Home

Library Borrowing Privileges
The alumni rate is $20.00 for one year. You must show your membership card at the library for this rate.
FSC Credit Card
Fitchburg State College alumni are invited to apply for a Fitchburg State College Mastercard through Bank of America. Every card issued and every purchase made supports the FSC annual fund, providing critical programs and services to students and alumni. And there is no additional cost to you. Reunions and Events
Throughout the year, reunions and special alumni events are held on campus, in the community, and regionally. While 50th and 25th reunion classes have events every year, any class may choose to plan their own festivities at any time. Call the alumni office if you wish to organize a reunion for your class or a special event for alumni of a club you were involved in as a student.
Facilities Space
Discounts on campus facilities are available to alumni for professional conferences and workshops. A number of rooms and auditoriums are equipped for satellite teleconferences. Call the Hammond Center at (978) 665-3161 for more information.
UMASS Club Membership
As alumni of the state college system, all Fitchburg State College alumni are eligible to apply for membership to the UMASS Club, located at 225 Franklin Street in Boston. The Club offers private dining as well as space for business meetings or private parties. Members may enjoy regularly scheduled events such as a speaker series, wine and scotch tastings, open houses and more. Membership also grants access to more than 200 ClubCorp facilities worldwide - country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and resorts.

Recreation Center
The Fitchburg State College Recreation Center on North Street offers 2 racquetball courts, a 1/4 mile indoor track, a pool, a basketball court, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Alumni may also sign up for group exercise classes and intramural sports, subject to availability. The cost to become a member at the Recreation Center is $75 per quarter, and you may register at your first visit to the facility. Alumni Parking Permits
Alumni may apply for parking permits by printing the form located at www.fsc.edu/parking/documents/AlumniParkingPermitApplication07-08.pdf and sending it to the Office of Housing and Residence Services. Permits are $10 for the year and are valid for all red parking lots, including the Recreation Center lot.
Scholarships
Alumni returning to Fitchburg State for graduate work may apply for graduate scholarships. Alumni children, spouses, and close relatives attending the College may apply for the Alumni Legacy Scholarships offered by the Alumni Association. Scholarship must be applied for through the Financial Aid Office. Contact them at (978) 665-3156 for more information.
