Academic Advising Center and Career Services provide guidance
Not really sure what area of study you want to pursue for your college education? No problem. Fitchburg State College has a program to help you. Focus on the Future is a program that enables Undeclared or Pre-Major students to make an informed decision
about their major and career path by providing opportunities to actively explore their options and to assess their interests, values and skills. Some services include career interest inventories, answers to academic questions, discussion groups, and career counseling. While you are taking your liberal arts and sciences requirements, we will help you narrow down your area of interest so you can choose a major that is right for you!
Choosing a Course of Study
Many students who attend Fitchburg State College are either undecided on a major when they begin their course of studies, or decide to change their majors once they are here. The staff of the Academic Advising Center works closely with our Career Services Center in assisting students to match majors with their strengths, career ambitions and personalities. Once a student has decided on a major, the Center provides information about courses of study, concentrations and academic minors, academic regulations, prerequisite courses, and registration.
Focus on the Future
The Focus on the Future program is designed for those that are unsure of what area of study to pursue. The program helps you explore and determine your future direction.
